Champs Factory
“The Champs Factory” is a sports project, developed with the support of the County Council, which aims to return Maramures at the forefront of the Romanian sports movement by expanding the selection base, identifying and forming new champions from the rural areas in traditional sports in the county and developing, in the first phase, six sports branches, namely: athletics, football, swimming, handball, taekwondo and volleyball.

On the 29th of September, the Champs Factory had the official launch, at which were present some of the ambassadors of the project: Maricel Voinea, Cristina Pirv, Vasile Bogdan. Along with these, ambassadors of the project are also Yuliya Dumanska, David Popovici, Ionuț Rada and Irina Giurgiu.
The Champs Factory got involved in sports activities in 2022 a total of 585 children from rural and small urban areas participating in its projects, of which 62 were selected for an eventual start of a career of athletes.
The Champs Factory is addressed to children between 7 and 14 years old, who are talented and passionate about one of the 6 sports departments it has in its portfolio.
We intend that at the 2032 Olympics, Brisbane we will have a representative of this sports programme.
The project gives a chance to young people from rural areas and smaller towns in the county, as well as those from disadvantaged backgrounds, the talented ones being identified by carrying out actions to promote sports and by organising mass competitions, following which our specialists can select children with the potential of future champions, aiming to lay the foundations of a long-term sports career for them.
The selection actions are organised in the form of school competitions, demonstration actions and mass competitions, so that the targeted children have the chance to participate in the actions to promote the sport, in order to discover their passion for movement and then regularly practice one of the proposed disciplines.
